The product challenge
Make a deep tradition approachable without making it shallow.
The experience had to serve a first-time visitor, an experienced reader and a returning journal user without turning the interface into a reference manual — and carry the same calm language from public search pages into a private, offline-friendly mobile app.
One system, different surfaces
The web product prioritises discovery and shareability. The mobile apps prioritise local storage, daily use and interruption-safe reading.
Content at real scale
Sixty-four complete guides and six illustrated panels per hexagram demanded repeatable content models, generated pages and dependable asset handling.
Respectful localisation
Thirteen web languages are supported through structured translation workflows that protect terminology, tone and generated-page consistency.

Systems and delivery
An architecture built around continuity.
The website uses static, search-focused publishing for the complete oracle library, with Cloudflare delivery and progressive enhancement around casting, sharing and membership. The React Native apps keep readings and preferences local, so the core experience survives without a connection.
Local-first mobile
SQLite-backed onboarding, settings and saved readings make the app useful on the device first, rather than treating the phone as a thin web client.
Searchable public library
Generated pages expose every hexagram in a fast, accessible form with canonical metadata and a maintained sitemap.
Production platform work
Supabase magic-link authentication, Stripe membership with webhook-synced entitlements, transactional email and Cloudflare infrastructure sit behind the public pages.
Quality gates
Playwright smoke tests, axe accessibility checks and Lighthouse budgets protect the most important routes before any release.
